Meet Dr. Shahrzad Jalali
Where Survival Becomes Power
Dr. Shahrzad Jalali, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist and executive coach who specializes in trauma, resilience, and nervous system regulation. She is the founder of Align Remedy and Dr. Jalali & Associates, where she supports individuals, couples, and leaders in moving from survival mode into clarity, calm, and sustainable growth.
Her philosophy is simple but radical: healing isn’t about “fixing”
yourself—it’s about reconnecting with yourself.
Drawing on her clinical
expertise and lived experience, she helps people address the hidden wounds
that quietly shape how they think, feel, and relate every day.
This is more than healing. It’s a homecoming.
She’s the author of the upcoming book The Fire That Makes Us, a powerful manifesto for anyone who’s ever felt stuck in their survival mode, questioning their worth, or afraid to feel it all. Through her signature blend of psychology, somatics, and no-BS compassion, Dr. Jalali helps people move beyond coping—and into calm, clarity, and conscious power.
Philosophical Foundations
“Let the fire forge you, not burn you.”
The Fire That Makes Us is a guide to uncovering and healing the silent traumas that, if left unaddressed, continue to rule our lives.
Many people appear strong and successful on the outside, yet carry invisible emotional injuries inside. These unspoken burdens show up as anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, emotional reactivity, or the inability to feel fully present. Left unchecked, they don’t fade with time—they quietly dictate how we love, lead, and live.
This book invites readers to confront those hidden patterns with compassion and science-based strategies. Through clear explanations and practical tools, Dr. Jalali shows how to:
- Understand how unresolved trauma imprints on the nervous system
- Recognize how silent trauma resurfaces in relationships, work, and self-worth
- Break free from cycles of burnout, fear, and self-criticism
- Learn body-based practices to regulate emotions and restore balance
- Reclaim resilience, purpose, and a sense of home in your own life
What Readers Will Learn
- Why unprocessed trauma becomes “silent” but powerful in shaping identity
- How nervous system dysregulation drives anxiety, burnout, and disconnection
- Practices to create calm, improve focus, and build resilience
- The role of boundaries, meaning, and self-compassion in long-term growth
Why This Book Resonates
- Clinically grounded — based on years of psychological and trauma-informed work
- Relatable — speaks to those who look strong but feel trapped by inner turmoil
- Actionable — provides strategies that can be used immediately to begin shifting from survival into growth
Transform the Fire That Burns Into the Fire That Builds.
SOMETIMES, IT WEARS YOU DOWN SLOWLY—UNTIL ONE DAY, YOU REALIZE YOU’RE NOT REALLY LIVING. YOU’RE JUST GETTING THROUGH IT.
Life’s challenges don’t just leave scars—they highlight what remains unresolved. When unaddressed, these experiences quietly shape how we think, feel, and relate, leaving us stuck in patterns of survival rather than growth.
The Fire That Makes Us is built on a simple truth: pain can become power when we learn how to face it with the right tools. Healing isn’t about pretending everything is fine—it’s about nervous system regulation, clarity, and self-trust.
This approach creates a roadmap anyone can follow: calm the body, restore balance, and reconnect with purpose.
A Moment That Changed Everything
“If I’ve come this far, why do I still feel like I’m barely holding it together?” It wasn’t a breakdown that changed things for Dr. Shahrzad Jalali. It was something quieter—and far more familiar. A moment of stillness in the middle of a busy day, where she realized she’d been surviving her life on autopilot. Doing everything “right,” yet feeling disconnected, exhausted, and unsure of who she was beneath it all.
That moment didn’t just wake her up. It gave her a choice: keep pushing through… or learn a different way to live. From that choice came a new approach to healing—one built not on willpower, but on nervous system wisdom, emotional clarity, and small, practical shifts that change everything.
It became the foundation of Regulate to Rise, her signature program—and the heart of her book, The Fire That Makes Us.
Impact Through Healing
Dr. Shahrzad Jalali doesn’t just talk about transformation—she teaches it, mentors it, and builds systems that make it real. Whether she’s working one-on-one with clients, leading emotional regulation programs like Regulate to Rise, or mentoring the next generation of clinicians, her mission remains the same: to make healing practical, accessible, and deeply human. She has trained and guided dozens of future psychologists, therapists, and coaches—equipping them with trauma-informed, nervous-system-literate tools that help people not just cope, but truly heal. Her mentorship is known for being both clinically rigorous and deeply compassionate, bridging the gap between textbook theory and lived experience. Her impact reaches far beyond the therapy room—into classrooms, supervision circles, boardrooms, and communities where emotional integrity and inner leadership are desperately needed.
Because when people feel safe in their own bodies and minds, they lead differently. They parent differently. They live differently. And that’s how we create lasting change—one regulated, resourced, rising human at a time.
“The real legacy isn’t what we leave behind—it’s who we become while we’re still here.”

This became her philosophy: steady, nervous system-based healing rooted in self-trust and real-life shifts. Regulate to Rise is her signature course, guiding you from burnout to clarity with tools you can use daily.

Boundaries Without Guilt: Reflective Journal Guide
Boundaries are less about walls and more about belonging to yourself. Use these prompts to illuminate the patterns beneath your yes and your no:
- In what moments do I override my true feelings in order to be accepted?
- What do I imagine will happen if I set a limit—will I be rejected, abandoned, misunderstood?
- How do I carry the unspoken rule from childhood: “to be loved, I must please”?
- What would my life look like if my yes came only from desire, never from duty?
- Write a compassionate boundary statement you could use this week. Speak it aloud. Notice the sensations in your body when you do.
This exercise is not about judgment—it is about reclaiming the inner voice that has long been silenced.
Recognizing Survival Mode: Three Hidden Signs
The nervous system carries its own memory, often long after the danger has passed. These are three subtle ways survival mode may be running your life:
- Hypervigilance – Your body stays on alert, scanning for threats even in safe spaces. It feels like a constant readiness for impact.
- Emotional Disconnection – A sense of numbness or detachment, as though you are moving through life behind glass.
- Overreactivity – Small stressors provoke large reactions—anger, anxiety, or collapse—because the system is already overwhelmed.
Regulation Practice: Place your hand over your heart. Breathe slowly into that space for three full cycles. Whisper to yourself: “In this moment, I am safe.” Over time, these small resets invite your body back into balance.
The Daily Regulation Ritual
Begin and end your day with a practice that reminds your nervous system: you can both root and rise.
- Pause & Breathe – Take five breaths, lengthening each exhale to signal safety.
- Ground in the Body – Press your feet into the floor, roll your shoulders, or stretch gently. Feel the weight of your body supported by the ground.
- Release What Lingers – Shake your hands, sigh audibly, or stretch in a way that feels organic. This signals completion to the body.
- Set an Intention – Choose a word or phrase to guide you: clarity, steadiness, compassion, courage. Let it act as an inner compass throughout the day.
This ritual requires only a few minutes, but repeated daily it becomes a quiet reorientation: from chaos to coherence, from fragmentation to presence.
